BIOLOGICAL POLLINATION (BOMBUS BEES)
In tomato cultivation, one of the most critical stages determining yield and quality is pollination. In traditional methods, this process was either left to natural wind or directed with chemical supports. In modern greenhouses, the solution comes from nature itself: bumblebees. Bumblebees pollinate by moving from flower to flower, thus ensuring natural pollination without the need for any chemical intervention.
Bumblebee colonies, placed in a controlled manner in our greenhouse at the beginning of each production season, ensure natural pollination in tomato flowers. This method increases fruit set rate, helps bunches develop more evenly, and ensures fruits ripen at the same time, resulting in uniform quality. Natural pollination maintains both the visual integrity and taste profile of our products.
This process, carried out without the need for chemical interventions, preserves the naturalness of our products and supports our residue-free production standard. It plays a critical role in helping us meet the "residue-free" criteria demanded by export markets such as Europe and the UK.
Aksaray's low humidity and our facility's fully automated climate control infrastructure increase the efficiency of bumblebees. Thus, we combine this efficient solution offered by nature with modern production techniques, creating a reliable and sustainable production model.
